Misty Graves will have her art for sale at the Arts Trussville Gateway Art Festival on Sunday, October 13, 2024. The art festival will be held at the Trussville Gateway Entertainment District from 11 am - 5 pm. Bring the whole family for great art, music, dancing, food, and fun! About the Artist
Misty Ramona Graves was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. From the time she was very young, she displayed a love for both creating and teaching art. She earned a Masters of Art Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She went on to teach art and art history in area high schools and colleges. In 2012, she retired from teaching in the public school system and began teaching private classes.

Misty lives in Trussville, Alabama where she creates paintings and sculptures, as well as teaching public and private art classes.

Misty’s style is color-forward with a focus on evoking emotion in its viewer. While grounded in realism, her personal work features broad brush strokes and splashes of bold color. She combines traditional techniques with new, creating an interesting juxtaposition of subject and surface.
